Robin MicheletqPharmetra / Freie Universität Berlin, Germany
Robin Michelet studied Bioscience Engineering at Ghent University, Belgium, after which he obtained a PhD in Pharmaceutical sciences from the same university on the topic of bottom-up, top-down and middle-out modelling and simulation approaches in paediatric drug research. He worked subsequently as a postdoctoral researcher and senior scientist at the laboratory of professor Charlotte Kloft, where he has mentored 15 PhD students to data in research topics applying pharmacometric approaches in anti-infective therapy, oncology, gastro-intestinal diseases, immunology, endocrinology and pediatrics. In parallel, Dr. Michelet worked as a freelance consultant and eventually started as a Pharmacometric Consultant at qPharmetra where he is currently still active. In this role, he has worked among others on translation of anti-viral and anti-cancer biologics from the pre-clinical to the clinical space, bioequivalence of complex formulation, study design, PK/PD modelling of opioids, exposure response analyses and systems models such as full and minimal physiologically based pharmacokinetic models.
He is an avid supporter of the use of translational modelling and simulation approaches capitalizing on all available knowledge regardless of the therapeutic area. Dr. Michelet has presented his work at numerous national and international conferences and has contributed to more than 50 scientific publications so far.
He is a member of numerous international scientific societies, including the International Society of Pharmacometrics (ISoP), the International Society of Anti-infective Pharmacology (ISAP), the European Society of Clinical Microbiology and Infectious Diseases (ESCMID) and the Ibero-American Pharmacometrics Network (RedIF).
